FAQ
What kind of product do you use? |
I use high quality makeup for all my body painting pigments. There are 2 types of makeup product that I use: water based and alcohol based. Both types of product are specifically designed for use on the skin. I also use a sealer as a final layer over the body paint to help protect the paint job and increase the durability of the makeup. This sealer is not bullet proof though, it is more analogous to using hairspray on your hair - it provides similar hold and protection for your body paint. |
How long does it last? |
The longevity of your paint job is dependent on several factors; including the type of makeup used, and the type of activity you will be doing while wearing your body paint. Water based makeup is very similar to the same makeup that you would use on your face - with many of the same properties. It will last for the evening, but will smudge or smear after prolonged periods of time. Alcohol based makeup will last longer and is more durable, but can still rub off with prolonged friction or contact. Activities in which you are very physically active, such as dancing, will wear down your body paint faster than if you were just walking around at an event. |
How long does it take? |
The time it will take is completely dependent on the size and complexity of the design you desire. A small arm / leg sized piece can take as little as 10-15 minutes, where as a large back or full body design could take anywhere from 1-4 hours. |
What should I wear to be painted in? |
Loose clothing is always a good choice. Backless halter tops, tube tops, old tee shirts that are big and loose, skirts, light work out pants, etc - are all good choices. |
How do I remove the body paint? |
Water based makeup can be removed with soap and water, or any basic makeup remover of your choice. Alcohol based makeup will not smudge or smear from contact with water, and is removed using 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. |
Do I have to be nude? |
NO - of course not. This is your way of expressing yourself and your body - flaunt what you want and leave the rest to the imagination ;) |
Will my picture be on your website? |
The pictures I include on my website are from past clients and models that have given me their express consent to include their image in my portfolio. It is always your choice if you want to be included or not. If you do choose to be included in my galleries, your face does not have to be shown in the picture so that you may preserve your anonymity - again the choice is yours to make. |
What do you charge? |
My rate is $125 an hour for all services. An additional travel fee of $25 may be requested for any event outside of Austin city limits. For estimation purposes, a full torso piece generally takes about one hour of paint time; while a full body can take 2+ hours depending on the complexity of the design. Group and party rates are also available on a flat rate or per hour basis - write me at [email protected] for a specific quote. |
Do you do parties? |
Yes - I have done corporate events, neighborhood parties, birthday parties, special occasions, and of course Carnaval and Mardis Gras parties. Write to [email protected] for specific details and quotes. |
How do I make an appointment / book you for an event? |
Simply write to [email protected] describing the event, or what you would like me to paint, and I will get back to you as quickly as possible. |
